McCain vs. Obama : Government Reformer vs. Cult Leader

Jonah Goldberg explains the difference between Senators McCain and Obama:

This is a short clip from a much lengthier debate between Mr. Goldberg and Peter Beinart that was held at Salt Lake City Community College on October 2nd. The rest of the debate can be seen here:
Goldberg vs. Beinart

This messianic cult that has developed around Obama is, ironically enough, in part the result of the secularization of the Left. Human beings have a built in need for belief in a higher power. A sense that there must be something greater than themselves. A feeling that there is a designer and a design. People naturally seek to connect with that power and want to know the design and to be a part of the plan. This is why G. K. Chesterton said "When people stop believing in God, they don't believe in nothing – they believe in anything". For the Left, government is their God and liberalism is their religion. Obama really is a messiah for many of these people. They don't support Obama. They believe in him: The Cult of Obama

I AM JOE DA PLUMBA

The McCain Campaign just released a new ad entitled "Sweat Equity":

This ad is not an example of McCain driving a message from the top down like the Obamessiah does when he the Most High, the Most Merciful, Lord Obama speaketh his daily talking points. This is the McCain Campaign picking up on the message of the American people:

These people are angry. Why? Here's a couple reasons: 1) They see that the media have gone way beyond bias to all out advocacy journalism. It used to be that the members of the liberal elite media were like fish that didn't know they were wet. They swam in an ocean of liberalism. All their friends were liberals. Most of the members of their families were either liberal or apolitical. Everyone they worked with was a liberal. And they all went to the same schools and lived in the same handful of zip codes. They were biased because they had such a skewed frame of reference. But now it is much more than that. Now the media are no longer making any attempt at being objective. They are simply doing whatever they need to do in order to get Barack Hussein Obama elected. 2) They see that the socialists are trying to take over America. Barack Hussein Obama wants to take money from people who worked for it and give it to people who didn't. Then he turns to the people he's writing checks to and says "vote for me". He's buying votes with other people's money. He's not a Democrat. He's not a liberal. He's a thief.

The Frontier Spirit Lives

I was hoping for Governor Palin to be chosen but did not believe it would happen. I'm only in my twenties but I think I now have an idea what it was like when Reagan first came on to the national stage. I made this video in tribute to Sarah:

From Ace of Spades:

"Maybe this is why Palin has suddenly resonated with the American people. She exudes a sense of what America used to be and what it can return to: confident, proud, able, and firmly unapologetic. Yes compared to perfection, America may be lacking but compared to every other country on Earth, America’s benevolence has no equal. Our bad acts have been no worse than those of every other country but our positive acts have saved the lives of 100’s of millions of people through out the world.

Palin seems to stir this sense of American exceptionalism that for too long has been squelched by the radical Liberal agenda. We have been constantly told by educators, by the media, by politicians that we are a bad country in need of much deserved rebuke. Palin on the other hand casts such dispersions aside and stirs feelings deep inside all of us that we Americans should be proud and confident. We have the unparalleled ability to solve any challenge placed before us. Palin has awaked this long slumbering American spirit."
